Typhoon Usagi, the fifth storm to hit the Philippines in less than a month

On November 14, 2024, Typhoon Usagi made landfall in Baggao City, Cagayan Province, on the island of Luzon in the northeastern Philippines, with wind speeds of 175 kilometers per hour.After the storm made landfall, police and rescue workers spread out to evacuate people from flood-stricken areas, with six families reportedly rescued safely. As the Philippine Weather Service downgraded its warning from the highest to the second-highest level as Typhoon Usagi weakened after making landfall, it moved northwest and is expected to continue south of Taiwan.
